At Bri-Tech, lighting design doesn’t end when the fixtures are installed — that’s when the real artistry begins. We call it Lightscaping — the process of fine-tuning, focusing, and balancing every beam of light to bring a space to life.

After installation, our designers return to adjust fixtures for optimal impact — not just aiming them, but changing focal lengths, adding beam-shaping or glare-control filters, and refining layers of light to highlight architectural features and reduce unwanted shadows. We also review dimming performance, diagnose driver issues that can cause LED flutter or flicker, and set the ideal minimum and maximum levels — since “full bright” isn’t always the goal, except maybe when cleaning. (A note here we often specify fixtures that are a bit brighter than needed. The cost difference is minimal, however is insures flexibility, especially when you want to punch up some feature, like grandmas crystal and silverware at Thanksgiving or a gorgeous stone fireplace!

Working side-by-side with owners, interior designers, and lighting designers, our team sets the mood and function of each space — from the drama of a feature wall to the comfort of a reading nook. Just as landscaping shapes the natural world, Lightscaping trims and sculpts illumination for the perfect visual experience.

Of course, achieving this level of precision starts long before installation. It requires adjustable fixtures and professional-grade accessories to be specified at the beginning of the project — something that rarely happens without a true lighting designer on the team.

Bri-Tech brings over 35 years of lighting design experience to every project — from manual (Lux x Area / Utl Coefficient x MF) calculations in the 1980s to illuminating Scalamandré Fabrics’ five-story NYC showroom and numerous private galleries. Lighting design isn’t something we just started doing; it’s part of our DNA.

While many AV companies now offer “lighting design” after a short manufacturer seminar, Bri-Tech’s depth of experience and integrated approach make all the difference. If you want a statement lighting system with professional control and enduring impact, contact the Bri-Tech Design Team.

And if your project calls for a dedicated lighting designer, we highly recommend two we’ve had the privilege to collaborate with:

Sara McElroy of Silver Shoe Design https://www.silvershoedesign.com/

Caitlin Faron of Shine Design http://www.shinehamptons.com/
